To promote a functional network of leaders to benefit the people of Kenya and advance the Kingdom of God.

Mission Objectives

Stiches and Beads Program – Develop the vocational sewing school for women and men to have the opportunity to sew for themselves and others. Distribution of re-usable sanitary towel kits that includes a Bible in each kit to young girls in Baringo County and other areas. Financial independence for Stitches and Beads thru contracts to produce uniforms, etc. for area hotel, resorts, schools and businesses.
Establish new and enhance existing projects to build water wells and bring Jesus to drought-stricken areas of Kenya.
Strengthen and support Clarence Matheny Ministries efforts to educate and provide resources to Kenyan pastors.
Bring Youth conferences to Baringo County through Count Me In. Count Me In is overseen by Clarence Matheny Ministries.
Strengthen and support Fearless Movement which is part of Clarence Matheny Ministries.
Distribution of re-usable sanitary towel kits, with a Bible in each kit, to young girls in Baringo County and other areas.

Emerson and Velda Rickstrew

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=””]Emerson Rickstrew is a graduate of West Texas State University and is a Certified Public Accountant and the CEO of Emerson K. Rickstrew, CPA – a consulting service. Emerson has extensive experience working with various businesses across the US.

Emerson married Velda in Amarillo, Texas. Velda was a Christ follower and in 1971, Emerson made the decision to dedicate his life to Christ. Emerson has led Bible education classes and small groups for over 40 years. Years later while living and working in southern CA and attending Saddleback Church, they grew closer to God and were prepared for the ministry opportunities God had destined for them in Kenya.

Velda Rickstrew has extensive experience as a women’s church leader and in organizing group trips, travel and training for Christian mission work in America and Kenya. She currently oversees the details of the ministry of Crossing Boundaries. She also hosts the very BEST Bible Study group in their home twice a month.

In 2006, their lives changed with a mission trip to Kenya arranged by Saddleback Church in California where they fell in love with the Kenyan people. With a small group, they travelled to Kenya from California. Pat and Kris Larkin were part of that trip and have walked beside them and have contributed greatly to the ministry of Crossing Boundaries. In 2010, they returned to Kenya and began deeper involvement in Christian/Humanitarian ministries. Pat and Kris Larkin

Longtime good friends from our days worshipping at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. They hosted and led our small group in their home. In 2006, we made our first trip to Kenya together through the Missions dept. of Saddleback Church. Since forming Crossing Boundaries, Inc. In 2020, we began a second school to provide vocational tailoring training and to make re-usable sanitary towel kits for thousands of impoverished rural school girls in Marigat Kenya.

Providing water wells, Bibles and training materials for local pastors, supporting orphaned street kids and orphanages, and other means of improving the live of Kenyans are close to the hearts of Emerson and Velda Rickstrew. They see their call from God as coordinating the efforts of several ministries to improve the impact they can have on the spiritual and physical lives of the incredible people of Kenya.
